They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Truckee Wolverines on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Greenwave sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Tommy Ames looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Churchill County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Juarez, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles. Those two doubles gave Juarez a new career-high. Anthony Gonzalez was another, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Churchill County's win bumped their record up to 21-8-1. As for Truckee, their loss dropped their record down to 20-11.
