The Opp Bobcats were the 42-35 winner over the Kinston Bulldogs when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Opp was beaten by Kinston 51-16 on Tuesday. Opp was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-9.
Opp's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cuba Wiggins, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Dionna Stoudemire, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
Opp's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Kinston, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Opp will take on Pleasant Home at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Kinston, they will head out on the road to face off against Houston Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
