Baseball Recap: University Charter Turns Things Around After Road Loss

University Charter's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Clarke County on Tuesday. The University Charter Trail Blazers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Central Falcons. The Trail Blazers haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

University Charter's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Gus Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in RBI (two). Will Fitz-Gerald also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Central, they suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, University Charter will square off against Holy Spirit Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central, they will welcome Hale County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
