Everything went their way against St. Mary as Bishop Timon-St. Jude made off with a 86-63 victory. Winning may never get old, but Bishop Timon-St. Jude sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude was led to victory by Aaron Hicks and Jaiden Harrison. Hicks scored 22 points along with five assists, while Harrison shot 5-for-7 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 30 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hicks has scored all season. Mike Gibson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the defeat, St. Mary's saw an underclassman step up: Will Szablewski scored 31 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Szablewski has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Griffin Smith, who scored eight points along with five assists and two steals.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude pushed their record up to 18-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.3 points. As for St. Mary's, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-13.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal O'Hara at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bishop Timon-St. Jude has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,687 points over their last 20 matches. As for St. Mary's, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Nichols at 6:00 p.m. St. Mary's knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Nichols likes a good challenge.
