Two Rivers recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in Two Rivers this week, University beat John Marshall 38-9. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Morgantown led the league in scoring this week by notching 44 points on Musselman.
Wheeling Park's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zach Phillips threw for 42 and 1 touchdown and Eric Banks had 22 yards receiving. On the ground Savion Johnson contributed 102 yards. Harrison Hartong helped Wheeling Park's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Johnson was a passing and rushing force as the Patriots topped Elkins. Johnson's favorite target this week was Banks, who caught 2 passes for 22 yards.
Banks was the best receiver in the league this week as Wheeling Park beat the Tigers. Hartong helped Wheeling Park's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 26 yards.
Chris Daugherty's team's Phillips and Banks led Two Rivers in both passing and receiving yards. Phillips has thrown for 916 yards this season, while Banks has 25 catches for 453 yards. The Mohigans' Chazzy Thomas leads the league in rushing yards with 638.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Morgantown takes on the Monarchs. As it stands, John Bowers' team is in second, while John Marshall is in fourth.
Brooke made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,882 from 6,266. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-28 victory over Parkersburg South last week.
