The New Dorp Central Cougars will be playing at home against the Norman Thomas Tigers at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Norman Thomas took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on New Dorp, who comes in off a win.
New Dorp waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Eagle Academy with points to spare, taking the game 60-46.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Norman Thomas, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 70-54 loss to Seward Park on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, Norman Thomas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while Seward Park is ranked 124th).
Despite the loss, Norman Thomas got a solid performance out of Jaden Chazulle, who scored 20 points. Jason Guzman was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
New Dorp has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. As for Norman Thomas, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.
