While it was all tied up 23-23 at halftime, the Pueblo South Colts were not quite the Arapahoe Warriors's equal in the second half on Saturday. Pueblo South took a 61-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Arapahoe. It was the first time this season that Pueblo South let down their fans at home.
Despite the loss, Pueblo South still got an impressive performance from Maurice Austin, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Austin scored a full 50% of Pueblo South's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Will Flowers, who scored 15 points.
Sam Kamstra was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 20 points along with nine rebounds. That's the first time this season that he pulled down eight or more rebounds.
Pueblo South has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Arapahoe, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Pueblo South will head out on the road to face off against Air Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Allowing an average of 50 points per game, Air Academy has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this matchup. As for Arapahoe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Vista is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 65 points per game.
