Softball Recap: Chino's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Chino dropped their record down to 12-12 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 6-3 to the Diamond Ranch Panthers. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 18-8.

As for Diamond Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games.

For Diamond Ranch's part, Izel Avalos was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Avalos has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Olivia Jauregui was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI. Emma Ramirez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
