West Florida Baptist Academy is a perfect 4-0 against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors are taking a road trip to challenge the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays at 6:00 p.m. West Florida Baptist Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Friday, West Florida Baptist Academy made easy work of Pensacola Catholic and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Conquerors.
Riley Scheel spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Haley Snyder was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cali Ellis, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Snyder wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Florida Baptist Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 19-9 to Booker T. Washington. Even though they lost, the Stingrays' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Kilee M was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also got a hit, marking her first of the season. Rylee L was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
West Florida Baptist Academy's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
West Florida Baptist Academy took their win against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0. Will West Florida Baptist Academy repeat their success, or does Lighthouse Private Christian Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
