Softball Recap: Alhambra Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against San Marino, Alhambra was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Bishop Conaty-Loretto Wildcats. For the Moors, this counts as revenge for the 8-1 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Alexis Garcia made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run.

Garcia wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Amari Antunez, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Antunez has hit this season.

The win was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-3. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2-1.

Coming up, Alhambra will be playing in front of their home fans against Sacred Heart of Jesus at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Conaty-Loretto, they are taking a road trip to challenge St. Monica at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
