Gio Visco was his usual excellent self, rushing for 246 yards and five touchdowns on only 11 carries. Visco was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Silvay, who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries.
Another reason for the win was California School for the Deaf-Riverside's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Visco and his two sacks.
Santa Clara aren't just finding sucess at home, as their game on Friday extended their overall winning streak to three. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Windward and snuck past 26-23.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santa Clara to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jason Valenzuela, who threw for 233 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Espinoza, who gained 103 total yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped California School for the Deaf-Riverside to 8-3 and Santa Clara to 7-4.
