The Analy Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Rancho Cotate Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Analy not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since September 9th (when they won 3-0). They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over St. Vincent de Paul. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Analy walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the third set). The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 25-15.
Analy found their leader in freshman Isabella Romine, who had nine digs and two aces.
Meanwhile, Rancho Cotate was able to grind out a solid win over Piner on Thursday, taking the game 3-1.
Rancho Cotate was especially dominant in the fourth set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-15.
Analy better focus on containing Izabella Harumi and Roxana Corona as the pair were huge in Rancho Cotate's win. Harumi had 21 digs and two aces, while Corona had 13 digs and four aces. With that strong performance, Harumi is now averaging an impressive 10.6 digs per game. ZaTalyah Whitfield also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.
Analy's record now sits at 12-7. As for Rancho Cotate, their record is now 13-4.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's contest: Analy has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Rancho Cotate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Analy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Rancho Cotate in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
