The Springtown Porcupines suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Bridgeport 80-36. Springtown was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-21.
Despite the loss, Springtown still got an impressive performance from Allison Ford, who scored ten points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Esther Balado, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Springtown are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 16-14. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.3 points per game. As for Bridgeport, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season.
Springtown will be playing in front of their home fans against Castleberry at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Castleberry comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Bridgeport, they will head out on the road to challenge Krum at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Krum is ranked 141st, while Bridgeport is ranked 142nd).
