The Littleton Lions were the 59-38 winner over the Green Mountain Rams when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Littleton fell to Green Mountain 48-43. Littleton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Littleton had strong showings from Penny Urquhart, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds, and Jacy Chandler, who scored 13 points along with three steals. That was a full 48.8% of Littleton's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Samantha Hernandez Tobon was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Green Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Herrig, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Addie Evans, who scored 11 points.
Littleton's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for Green Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Littleton won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Heritage at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Heritage is ranked 162nd, while Littleton is ranked 143rd). As for Green Mountain, they will head out on the road to square off against Pomona at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
