The Collinsville Kahoks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alton. Collinsville has not had much luck with Alton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Collinsville lost, one person who can't be blamed is Talesha Gilmore. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with eight rebounds. That was a full 48.1% of Collinsville's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Guererro, who scored 12 points.
Collinsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. As for Alton, their win was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 27-2.
Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alton's road trip will continue as they head out to face Granite City at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th.
