The Lemont Lemont HS fell victim to the East St. Louis Flyers''s stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Flyers on the road and fell 61-0. While losing is never fun, Lemont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 127th, while East St. Louis is ranked third).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead East St. Louis to victory, but perhaps none more so than Larevious Woods, who rushed for 87 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Robert (pops) Battle was another key contributor, rushing for 99 yards.
Lemont's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for East St. Louis, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Lemont does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East St. Louis also has no future games currently scheduled.
