The Catholic Central Crusaders waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged Shenandoah out 49-47. For Catholic Central, this counts as revenge for the 60-48 loss Shenandoah walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Catholic Central was led to victory by Benjamin Rook and Tommy Pergi. Rook scored 15 points along with two steals, while Pergi scored 18 points. Rook hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Cihon, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Catholic Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Shenandoah, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
Catholic Central won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Frontier at 6:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Shenandoah, Shenandoah and Caldwell will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
