The Hoehne Farmers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 28 points or more this season. They claimed a resounding 51-8 victory over Las Animas at home. With Hoehne ahead 33-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Hoehne was led to victory by Kaylah Crosson and Ellegra Guriterrez. Crosson scored nine points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Guriterrez scored 14 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Janae Ramos, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.
Hoehne's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.7 points per game. As for Las Animas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hoehne will square off against Swallows Charter Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Las Animas will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Center at 12:00 p.m. on January 13, 2024.
