Delhi Charter had been on a three-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Ouachita Christian put an end to it on Monday. Delhi Charter took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Ouachita Christian. The Gators' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Thomas Mize spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Delhi Charter saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bradley Wiggins, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that Wiggins got this season.
Meanwhile, Union Parish posted their closest win since March 11, 2024 on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Bastrop 9-8. The Farmers haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Braxton Patterson was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Khaidyn Johnson, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Terrance Wallace was another key player, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.
Delhi Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Union Parish, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
