The Woodgrove Wolverines will head out to square off against the Washington Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodgrove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.
Woodgrove blew Jefferson out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Thursday Jefferson got their revenge. The Wolverines fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Wolverines couldn't push the score so high this time.

Virginia Dowell was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Abbey Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with four stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, Washington waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Cardinals. Give the Patriots' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.
The result came thanks to Chloe Constantino's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks.
On the hitting side, Washington let Addison Musser and Gabby Bibb run wild. Musser went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double, while Bibb went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Carly Constantino was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Washington pushed their record up to 14-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Woodgrove, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Woodgrove took their victory against Washington in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
