After flying high against Silver Stage last Tuesday, Incline came back down to earth. The Incline Highlanders took a 14-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Stage Nighthawks on Saturday. Even though they lost, the Highlanders' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Tate Gitchell and Colton Barraza did some serious damage despite the final result: Gitchell scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Barraza went 1-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Barraza has posted since back in March of 2024. Leo Dukes also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Incline dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Silver Stage, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
While Incline had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
