Baseball Recap: Arkport Central/Canaseraga Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

Arkport Central/Canaseraga extended their postseason success on Thursday against Naples. They blew past the Big Green Machines 13-0. Considering the Wolves have won 16 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Drew Glover and Caden Carey made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Glover pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Carey struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). At bat, Glover went a perfect 1-for-1 with four RBI and one double, while Carey got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. What's more, Carey posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Arkport Central/Canaseraga got a massive performance out of John Marcus, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most runs Marcus has posted since back in May of 2024. Micah Marvin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Arkport Central/Canaseraga's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Naples, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.

Arkport Central/Canaseraga didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Fillmore on the 1st. Naples does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
