It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Silverdale Academy Seahawks ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They slipped by Boyd-Buchanan 65-64. The victory was nothing new for Silverdale Academy as they're now sitting on five straight.
Silverdale Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Houston Holland out in front who scored 19 points. Holland continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Okpara, who scored 17 points.
Silverdale Academy's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Boyd-Buchanan, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Grace Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Grace Baptist Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Silverdale Academy is ranked 38th). As for Boyd-Buchanan, they will head out on the road to challenge Silverdale Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
