The Navajo Prep Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tohatchi 99-49 at home. Navajo Prep has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.
Leading Navajo Prep to victory were Xavier Nez and Jude Thomas. Nez scored 24 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Thomas shot 5-for-7 from long range and dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten assists. Nez hasn't dropped below 15points for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Orion King, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds.
Navajo Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Tohatchi, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Navajo Prep will head out on the road to face off against Thoreau at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Thoreau's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Tohatchi, they will be playing at home against Crownpoint at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crownpoint is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
