Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Jonesboro-Hodge Tigers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Ferriday 34-6 on Friday. Jonesboro-Hodge lost against Ferriday in their previous head to head back in October of 2014, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 15-14 score last time.
Ferriday's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Ellis, who threw for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Taevion Edwards and his 102 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Ferriday's victory.
Jonesboro-Hodge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Ferriday, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-6.
Jonesboro-Hodge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Ferriday will head out on the road to face off against Kentwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kentwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 120 points over their last three matches.
