The Crean Lutheran Saints were the 72-65 winner over the Notre Dame (SO) Knights when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Crean Lutheran fell 63-51 to Notre Dame (SO) on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Crean Lutheran can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while Notre Dame (SO) is ranked 11th).
Crean Lutheran's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Troy Jenkins, who scored 15 points, and Matt Ciftcikara who scored ten points along with three steals. Kaiden Bailey was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven assists.
Crean Lutheran has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Notre Dame (SO), the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 23-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Crean Lutheran will take on Kennedy at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. Kennedy is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Crespi at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Crespi focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
