Custer was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from third to first in Black Hills. Earlier in the week, the Wildcats triumphed over Belle Fourche 20-14.
Hot Springs made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,786 from 8,957. The advance stemmed from a 31-6 victory over the Bison last week.
Custer's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Chase Glazier threw for 226 and one touchdown and Israel Parsons had 122 yards receiving. On the ground Kenneth Myers chipped in 121 yards. Jared Thomsen helped Custer's passing attack out by catching four balls for 58 yards.
Casey Siedler made the biggest impact on defense this week as Russ Bailey's team defeated the Broncs. The 6-foot-3 sophomore grabbed one sack.
Custer's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Glazier has thrown for 612 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Erik Hiltunen has eight catches for 156 yards. Myers leads the league in rushing with 290 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when More takes on the Wildcats. As it stands, the Cavaliers are in third, while Custer is in first.
