Mascenic Regional extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 9-1 in the process. They had just enough and edged out the Concord Christian Kingsmen 3-1. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Having lost for the first time this season, Concord Christian fell to 6-1. The match marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

For Concord Christian's part, TJ Charbono spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits and racked up nine Ks. Charbono has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

Coming up, Mascenic Regional will head out on the road to face off against Conant at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Concord Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Portsmouth Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. The Kingsmen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.6 runs per game this season.
