The Hi-Plains Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 63-38 defeat at the hands of Stratton. Hi-Plains was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-18.
Several Patriots players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addison Henschel, who scored nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Sayles, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Leading Stratton to victory were Sedonia Isenbart and Clare Miltenberger. Isenbart scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Miltenberger scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Miltenberger scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sophia Isenbart, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Hi-Plains dropped their record down to 4-6 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Stratton, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hi-Plains' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Cheylin at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th. Stratton will take on Eads at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Eads is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
