Jackson is 9-1 against Perry since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Jackson Polar Bears will look to defend their home court against the Perry Panthers at 6:45 p.m. Jackson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Perry likes a good challenge.
Jackson proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 54) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past GlenOak 82-80. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jackson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyle Monterrubio, who scored 23 points. Mitch Finefrock was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Perry's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 54-38 to Medina. While losing is never fun, Perry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while Medina is ranked 130th).
Jackson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Perry, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Jackson strolled past Perry in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 71-54. Will Jackson repeat their success, or does Perry have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
