Valencia (Placentia, Calif.) extended its winning streak to five games with a 31-13 victory over
Sonora (La Habra, Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Levi Perez touchdown run in the first quarter, the Tigers led 24-6 at the half.
Valencia expanded its lead to 25 points entering the fourth quarter. VHS scored once in the quarter on a
Matt Ruff touchdown pass to
Jake Watkins.
The Placentia school's most effective player was Perez. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
The Tigers went into the matchup giving up only 14.2 points per game. The Raiders' 13 points were well below their season average of 22.9 per game.
