The Autaugaville Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Calhoun Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Autaugaville had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They took down the Lions 63-47.
Meanwhile, Calhoun stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 84-45 win over Ellwood Christian at home. Given Calhoun's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Ellwood Christian is ranked 463rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Calhoun's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brenterris Managan, who scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Robertson, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Autaugaville now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Calhoun, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.
Autaugaville was dealt a bruising 69-41 loss at the hands of Calhoun in their previous meeting last Monday. Can Autaugaville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
