Ozanam's's found some homefield redemption this week after a tough overtime loss to the Midland Adventist Academy Mustangs on Friday. Ozanam strolled past The Daniel Academy with points to spare, taking the game 58-39. This was payback for Ozanam, who suffered a 48-47 loss the last time these two teams met.
Talan Olmstead was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Ozanam's points. The team also got some help courtesy of A.W. Poke, who scored 15 points.
Ozanam's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for The Daniel Academy, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ozanam will square off against Frontier STEM at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier STEM comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for The Daniel Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Midland Adventist Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
