Overhills is 1-9 against Western Harnett since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Overhills will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Harnett at 6:30 p.m. Overhills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.9 runs per game this season.

Overhills had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Western Harnett put an end to it on Tuesday. Overhills lost 10-2 to Western Harnett.

For Western Harnett's part, Morgan McAuley made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave McAuley a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Western Harnett let Ava Corley and Audrina Gibson run wild. Corley scored a run while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances, while Gibson scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryley Brewer, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Western Harnett hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

With the loss, Western Harnett broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-6. As for Overhills, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
