Softball Recap: Santana Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Santana won the last time they faced Calexico and things went their way on Monday too. The Sultans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Bulldogs a 10-0 shutout. The Sultans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

Kaylee Lindahl was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Hailee Powell also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Santana has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Calexico, they moved to 11-8 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Coming up, Santana will square off against Steele Canyon at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Sultans are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Calexico, they are taking a road trip to take on Mira Mesa at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
