The Northfield Norsemen were the 54-44 winner over the Maconaquah Braves when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Northfield fell 51-40 to Maconaquah on Tuesday.
Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Callie Hoffman, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Camryn Kuhn, who scored 10 points.
Miranda Stoll was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with 6 rebounds for Maconaquah. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stoll has scored at least 25% of Maconaquah's points. Addie Maiben was another key contributor, scoring 9 points.
Northfield's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Maconaquah, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will challenge Manchester at 7:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Manchester focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for Maconaquah, they will head out on the road to face off against Eastern at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
