Somerset College Prep Academy gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Okeechobee Brahmans. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Brahmans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Somerset College Prep Academy who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-22, 19-25, 25-20, 15-25, 15-11.
Okeechobee's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Looking ahead, Somerset College Prep Academy will venture away from home to challenge Lake Placid at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Okeechobee, they will face off against John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Brahmans surely won't give up without a fight.
