The Sweetwater Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tellico Plains. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sweetwater of the 71-67 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture last Friday.
Sweetwater lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hunter Daffron, who scored 15 points. Chris Alford was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Tellico Plains, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sweetwater will take on Roane County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Roane County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Tellico Plains, they will head out on the road to challenge Sequoyah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Tellico Plains is facing Sequoyah at the right time seeing as Sequoyah is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
