Section 6 B - South recap November 5, 2013
Griffith Institute moved up to 281 from 331 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 6 B - South. The Griffins climbed the ranks as a result of topping Lewiston-Porter 56-0.
Olean was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in the league. Earlier in the week, the Huskies defeated East Aurora 17-13.
Eden's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Raiders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Nick Sarratori has thrown for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns this season, while Alex Smythe has 7 catches for 83 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Alden takes on second place Depew.
Alden extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 B - South this week by beating Burgard/Math Science Tech Prep at Seneca, 21-12. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Bulldogs.
