On Friday, The Ouachita Christian Eagles got themselves on the board against the Cedar Creek Cougars, but the Cedar Creek Cougars never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 35-0 win over the Cougars on the road. The result was nothing new for Ouachita Christian, who have now won six matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Ouachita Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makin Lenard, who rushed for 64 yards and three touchdowns. Tate Hamby also helped out with an impressive 91 receiving yards.
Ouachita Christian's victory was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.6 points per game. As for Cedar Creek, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Ouachita Christian will look to defend their home field on Friday against Grant at 7:00 p.m. Grant will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 178th, while Ouachita Christian is ranked 14th). As for Cedar Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Lincoln Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lincoln Prep comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
