Bishop McNamara came tearing into Thursday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 22-2 margin over the Aurora Christian Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 on April 8th.

Victoria Torres looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Bishop McNamara let Gabby Burnett and Rhaya DePaolo run wild. Burnett went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while DePaolo went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Bridget Bertrand, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one double.

Bishop McNamara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 13 hits in five consecutive matches.

Bishop McNamara pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.0 runs over those games. As for Aurora Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop McNamara will face off against Coal City at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Aurora Christian, they will square off against Wheaton Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
