The Lubbock-Cooper Pirates had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Parkland 67-7 on the road. Given Lubbock-Cooper's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while Parkland is ranked 608th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Lubbock-Cooper has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Parkland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Lubbock-Cooper will be playing in front of their home fans against Aledo at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Aledo comes in on 11 and Lubbock-Cooper on four. Parkland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
