Trace Buechle's Big Game Leads Valentine over Mitchell
Starting off the list is Valentine's Trace Buechle, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Buechle threw for 166 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on only six carries. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 62 yards.
The victory was the fourth in a row for Valentine, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. Buechle's next contest is against Amherst on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

If history really does repeat itself, Hill might just drop another big game when he faces off against Gordon-Rushville on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Hill saw the Mustangs), he picked up 0.5 sacks and made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Garza Made His Presence Known in Mitchell's 45-26 Defeat
While Adriane Garza delivered a dominant performance on Friday, a win just wasn't in the cards for Mitchell. Nobody could stop Garza as he rushed for 216 yards and three touchdowns. He didn't just play on offense: he also made two total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defended a pass.
Mitchell dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Garza and Mitchell will head out to challenge Kearney Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
