Southland's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Mabel-Canton as they made off with an 8-0 win. Considering the Rebels have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Cole Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Miller was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Southland let Landon Hill and Austin Swenson run wild. Hill went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Swenson went 3-for-5 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Maverick Hanna, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Houston came up short against Hayfield on Saturday and fell 8-3. The Hurricanes have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Zach Olson was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Grayden Beckman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Southland pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Houston, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Southland was able to grind out a solid victory over Houston when the teams last played back in April, winning 7-4. Do the Rebels have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
