After flying high against Middletown Christian last Tuesday, West Jefferson came back down to earth. The West Jefferson Roughriders lost 59-39 to the Fairbanks Panthers on Friday. The Roughriders' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Several Roughriders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Colton Kincade, who went 6 for 9 en route to 15 points. Kincade is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Buescher, who posted nine points along with six blocks and five rebounds.
West Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Fairbanks, they pushed their record up to 18-1 with the victory, which was their ninth straight on the road.
West Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-50 defeat against Cedarville on the 4th. Fairbanks has also already played their next contest, a 67-31 win against KIPP Columbus on the 4th.
