The Ligonier Valley Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They lost to Bishop Carroll at home by a decisive 83-67 margin. While losing is never fun, Ligonier Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 574th, while Bishop Carroll is ranked 219th).
Bishop Carroll got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Luke Repko out in front who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The game was Repko's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Jace Casses was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Ligonier Valley's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Bishop Carroll, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.
Ligonier Valley and Apollo Ridge will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Apollo Ridge comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Bishop Carroll won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Westmont Hilltop at 7:15 p.m. on December 29th. One thing working in Westmont Hilltop's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight matchups.
