Allie Abell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up four earned runs off ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.
In other batting news, Bailey Tegeler was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Breanna Tegeler was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.
Meanwhile, Rock Falls got the win against Genoa-Kingston on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rockets.
Rock Falls got a massive performance out of Rylee McFadden, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Those four RBI gave McFadden a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kacie Witherow, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Rock Falls was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .515. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Rock Falls' record now sits at 9-18. As for Dixon, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Dixon came out on top in a nail-biter against Rock Falls when the teams last played two weeks ago, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dukes & Duchesses since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
