The Gautier Gators's game on Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They secured a 42-38 W over East Central. That's another feather in the cap for Gautier, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cartavious Myers, who scored 13 points. The game was Myers' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Aj Hopkins, who scored nine points.
Gautier is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for East Central, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gautier will challenge Laurel at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Central, they will head out on the road to face off against Vancleave at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Vancleave is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
