After soaring to 32 points the game before, The Steinbrenner Warriors were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 27-6 walloping at the hands of Plant. While losing is never fun, Steinbrenner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 252nd, while Plant is ranked 108th).
Despite the loss, Steinbrenner still got an impressive performance from Andrew Diaz, who gained 150 total yards. Diaz was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Leading Plant to victory were Trey O'Malley and Waltez Clark. O'Malley threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns on only ten passes, while Clark gained 131 total yards and two touchdowns.
Steinbrenner's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Plant, the victory was the seventh in a row for they, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Steinbrenner will take on Sickles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Sickles is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Plant, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alonso at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alonso is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
