The Trotwood-Madison Rams won the last time they faced the Springfield Wildcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Trotwood-Madison had just enough and edged the Wildcats out 55-53. Given Trotwood-Madison's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 424th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Trotwood-Madison's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tim Carpenter led the charge by scoring 16 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. Carpenter hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Brandon Brewer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Trotwood-Madison is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Springfield, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trotwood-Madison won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the BIG RED at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st. As for Springfield, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Warriors at 7:15 p.m. on February 2nd.
